Ernie Schirru has practised both labour and employment law at Koskie Minsky since his call to the Bar in 2003. Prior to joining the firm, Ernie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Labour Studies from Brock University and his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. As a member of the Koskie Minsky Labour Group, Ernie represents industrial, public service and construction trade unions on a full range of labour relations matters, including the acquisition and maintenance of bargaining rights, unfair labour practices, discipline and discharge, grievances arising under collective agreements, human rights issues, employment standards, health and safety, workplace injuries and collective bargaining. As a member of Koskie Minsky Employment Group, Ernie represents clients on a wide variety of employment and human resource related issues and litigation.
Ernie is currently a member of the Ontario Bar Association Labour & Employment Law Section executive and is co-editor of the Koskie Minsky quarterly Employment News.
